A Cookbook

My mother-in-law and I have been talking lately of making a family cookbook, so many recipes seem to disappear when the older generation stops cooking. It will be interesting to see the recipes that I get and I am debating whether to try them out before putting them in the cookbook. I am a bit afraid of some of them honestly. Hubby's family comes from the Appalachian region and I have heard stories of some of the things that they make. It is similar to some of the things that my great-grandma would make. I love her but I would never eat pigs feet, I'm sorry I just can't do it.

I am also thinking that when I finish with that cookbook I will start on one from my side of the family that or I might just make one of my own.

  1. I think this is a wonderful idea! I'd love to have some of my Grandma's old recipes - she's been gone from this earth a long, long time ~ though when I recently obtained one of her recipes from an Aunt, I had to laugh because it was so general with no real instructions on bake time, etc. She just knew how to make things and wasn't accustomed to writing down the recipes. Also, she never went to school, so she spelled by the way of phonics. Good luck with your project! :)
