Peppermint Bark

Peppermint bark is one of my favorite candies. I am not a huge candy person, but come December I could live off of this. It is super simple to make and the best part is it's a great gift item.

Peppermint Bark
1 bag chocolate chips (I used milk chocolate)
1 bag white chocolate chips
6 candy canes

Line a baking sheet with wax paper or parchment or a silpat. Melt chocolate chips in the microwave per directions on the bag. Spread the chocolate on the sheet pan until it is fairly thin. Place in the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes until the chocolate is set.

While you are waiting for your chocolate to set crush your candy canes until they are in small pieces. I love to use a rolling pin for this just put the candy canes in a ziplock bag then whack them with the rolling pin. It is a great stress relief too.

Then melt the white chocolate chips per package instructions. Spread on top of the chocolate layer and top with the crushed candy canes. Put back in the refrigerator to set about 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Then break into chunks and package, or eat, either one is good.

Enjoy!
