Hello to anyone who is still out there, it's been a LONG time, over 6 months and creeping up on 7. We won't get into that today, instead I want to share with you this simple delicious cake that I made on Monday, we'll put it this way I am surprised there is anything left this morning.
The cake its self is super simple and easy to make. It should have nuts of some kind (almonds in the book) but as my kids and hubby are not a fan of nuts I skipped them because we all know that I don't need to eat a whole cake on my own.
I served mine with a bit of cool whip - shhhh - it wasn't really necessary as it was sweet enough.
If it wasn't for the fact that my boys are all expecting a bunny cake for Easter I would make this cake instead.
xoxo

Yum! looks lovely! It seems this cake didn't disappoint anybody! Great job!
ReplyDeleteNice touch, adding the powdered sugar on top.
ReplyDeleteYup! its good enough to bake it again soon! I would probably use a different honey though. DH did not like the flavor of the one I used.
ReplyDeleteps: its great to have you baking with us again!
Ciao ! I'm sure you could bake this in a bunny shape ! I think your cake looks great !
ReplyDeletePowdered sugar and cool whip make pretty toppings! You can really see the yummy glaze in that second picture- I get that bite! ;)
ReplyDeleteThe powdered sugar is beautiful! It makes the cake that much more delicate-looking :)
ReplyDeleteThis cake really was a winner, wasn't it? I love your dusting of powdered sugar, and of course that dollop of cream definitely adds to the yummy experience.
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful!I am sure it was delicious without the nuts as well:)
ReplyDeleteHeather...your cake is lovely! I love the simple sprinkling of powdered sugar. So perfect. You are too good to your family....I would have likely doubled my almonds just to have it all to myself! ; -}
ReplyDeleteHeather, with that cool whip, it just makes your cake even more tantalising :):) I bet your boys love it too!!
ReplyDeleteLooks moist and delicious :-) x
ReplyDeleteOhhh I like the look of this cake with the powdered sugar as a substitute to the nuts.
