I made this today....

I've been talking about making my own laundry soap all summer and just came up with one excuse after another to not get it done. Well today while out shopping I found all the ingredients sitting on the shelf together, I figure that was a sign. So with an investment of $15.00 I am attempting my own laundry detergent. I'll let you know how it goes. If it fails well then I have a nice 5 gallon bucket with a lid.

If you want to make your own go here.

  1. Very ingenius of you! Hope it works out.
Because everything has gone up in price so much these past two years, I've reverted to buying a cheap generic laundry detergent that is actually working fine for us. I just picked up 2 for $5.00 yesterday - can't recall the size right now, but decent size bottles. But maybe I'll have to revert to making my own stuff too. :)

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

  2. I've been making my own--powdered not liquid--for awhile. It seems to work just fine and is certainly cheap but sometimes it's kind of a pain to make more when I run out. It's one more thing to do. But I suppose the same could be said for buying it at the store. We'll see if I keep it up when my current stock of ingredients runs out.

  3. I'm blog hopping..Linda is my Aunt and I read her blog all the time. Anyway, I've been making my own detergent for about 6 months with the same recipe. I found it on the Duggars web page (those 18 bazillon kids and counting people). It works great. Truly, you will never notice a difference. That $15 investment will last for years! Good luck!
