Friday Things

1. Today I give thanks to all the past and present service men and women who give us the freedom to live as we choose. Thank you.

2.  Our friends are getting married in Hawaii today. Congratulations to them as they start there lives together. xoxo

3. Yesterday I went to a "running" store. They analyzed my stride and I got to buy new shoes, it was a good day just because of the shoes.

4. Later this afternoon I am going antique shopping with Mom, sans children, it will be nice.

5. I made caramel apple cookies this week. They were good, so I sent them off with Mom to work, I forgot to take a picture but I will share the recipe next week.

6. I am working on a homemade vanilla oreo. It's a work in progress.

7. I am excited for the holidays, they are some of my favorite times of the year. This year even though we are busy every single Saturday after Thanksgiving, we have left Sunday to our day, so that will be nice.

8. Speaking of the holidays I started my shopping a few days ago and I am hoping to get it all done soon.

  1. Hi Heather,
    Happy Friday and Happy weekend.

Love the sound of your afternoon plans with your Mom. I enjoy antique browsing as well.

Hooray for the new running shoes. :) I badly need to wash my New Balance walking shoes here at work - from all of those days walking in the rain with them, it smells like a horse stable in my office. Note to self: bring shoes home today to wash.

I love the holiday time too, though it overwhelms me, because it's all over so quickly. I start my shopping (it's all basically done online) in late August and am finishing up right about now. I have to spread it out like that, because we buy a lot for each other (just between Jim, our daughters and I) and there are all of those family birthdays in the same time period as the holidays. So, I have to stretch out the spending. This weekend, I plan to begin wrapping because our walk-in closet looks like Santa's workshop in there, with all of the boxes received through the mail.

    Have a wonderful weekend.
    Love, Linda

  2. That running store thing is kind of fun, isn't it?

Antique shopping with no kids sounds lovely. I hope you enjoyed it!
